I recently received a letter from a dwarven fellow named Gundren Rockseeker, in the letter he talked about a job he wanted to offer me, about how and I and a few others would need to escort a wagon of supplies and provisions to a town called Phandalin and that we would each be paid 10 gold pieces upon completion of the job.
Now upon heading into Neverwinter and making my way over to the stables where the wagon was being kept, I met with two of my fellow guards, Silas Swift and Saoirse.
Saoirse appears to be from Neverwinter and whilst I am unsure that she has ever left the walls of the city, she seems to be willing leave the city for this job.
Now, from what I gathered when she was introducing herself, Saoirse is from the church of Ilmater within Neverwinter, she explained about how the church had taken her in when she was young after her mother had sadly passed away, her father not being present to take her in and care for her as he has never appeared to have been in the picture since before her birth. (She also appears to have a pet mouse called Mr. Eyebrows... and i am not too sure as to what that is about.)
Now Silas is very different from Saoirse, Silas is very much not from Neverwinter but she does not seem to be letting that stop her from making new friends and taking on this job from Mr. Rockseeker.
From what I could gather about Silas as she introduced herself was that she had grown up on a homestead with her father's (Plural I do believe?) who as it happens are friends of Gundren's and she often refers to him as 'Uncle Gundren' she also mentioned growing up with a fox for a brother who was 'awakened' I believe the term was, but I'm not sure what it actually means but I'll avoid looking into it too much for now.
After I introduced myself, we decided that it would be best for us to get a move on and so Saoirse took hold of the horses reigns and sat up front and Silas sat up front with her whilst I took a seat in the back of the wagon with the cargo we were to escort.
As our journey progressed and as Silas and Saoirse talked amongst themselves, I decided to use this as an opportunity to take a look inside one of the crates close to me, all I found inside the crate was a bunch of tools; pickaxes, brushes and miners lamps, etc. I may not know why wants us to escort these items to Phandalin but it's not my place to question his motives, so I'll refrain from doing so for now.
Eventually we had to stop mid journey as we came across a wagon left in the middle of the road, the horses that had been used to pull the wagon along, both lay dead in the road and upon further inspection from Silas who had recognised them as being horses belonging to her uncle, it was looking as though both horses had been dead for a few days already.
